So my ac adapter stopped working consistently. It stays connected only sometimes when it is in a certain position but still shuts off randomly sometimes. I just re positioned it for a while but its getting worse and I think its time for a new one. I saw quite a few on amazon and ebay but I'm wondering what you guys recommend. I think it is covered under the adw but from what I've read it sounds like it can take quite a long time before you can get what you want from Asus and its a royal pain, so I'm just looking for a new one around 30 bucks.

    Thanks!

Im afraid the adapter isn't the one to blame. Check the thread G73 owners lounge where several people report this problem and have to send back their G73 for a repair of the connector in the laptop!

    Good luck!

BlueV makes a good point, but I would go to a local repair shop and ask if they can test your power supply and/or try a new one to see if this solves it. Then you can deal with ASUS if needed.

    Hi Cacklefactory,

If you are adjusting the point where the AC adapter connects to the motherboard, then it would be best to have it serviced. It's possible the pin is getting loose on the motherboard, and can get worse if it comes off completely.

You can PM me your personal info and serial number, and I can get your RMA setup. Your case number is 1622043.

    Sincerely,
