Newegg has the g73sw in stock now =). I'm curious to see a full review soon! Anyone seen one in person yet?
-
Yes, would be nice to have a full review and to know if it uses Optimus or not (it's not clear as I read in different websites in french that its expected to have Optimus... but looks like in the thread in this forum from the ones that bought the G73SW-3D german version does not have it...)
-
i dont see it on there site
-
For your info, link to websites anouncing the G73SW-TZ096V with Optimus:
> Asus G73SW-TZ096V à 1299? : 17.3″ Full HD, Sandy Bridge Core i7, GTX 460M, Optimus LaptopSpirit.fr - PC Portable, Ultraportables, Netbooks, UMPC et mobilité
> PC Portable Asus G73SW-TZ096V, 17.3", Asus à 1249.90€
But for me it's not a reliable technical detail... and moreover, on second link you can already order it... 15 days delay... I will not buy something were specifications may be not correct. -
yea i found it, anyway the ati 5870 out performs the nivida 1.5gb card, and i can hardly see upgrading for a measly .4ghz.
not worth it imo -
agreed. Now when an upgrade for the processor is available for only $160 (like the sager), with the new chipset, it might be worth getting for clock 2.6ghz.

By the way, I found the "Asus Lamborghini VX7" which looks a lot like the G73 models, however following spec I read, it should have 3GB DDR5 of video ram instead of 1.5. Does anyone know this model and how is it compared to the G73 models (except that I probably won't like the shiny case of this one)
Here the specs:

What's the added value in this model to have 3GB of video instead of 1.5 as reolution won't be bigger? -
The Asus G53sv should follow in the next few weeks, should it not?
-
Beautiful design, but why must they use the 460M AGAIN? They should totally add an AMD 6970 (?) like the one in the M17-R3! By now, the 460M is old tech, not to mention the 5870 performs better in the majority of games by a small margin (5-7 fps more on average).
It mentioned the resolution is "optional", so they'll have a 3D 1366 version as well as a 1080 version (I assume). -
The SW is not for you because you already have the g73jh, this is for people that can still return there current one for an almost full refund or people that are buying a g73 for the first time.
-
well why would a new buyer want a nvidia card that is out performed by the 5870
-
Because JW/SW is fresher
USB 3.0, separated touchpad keys, faster cpu > minimal gpu performance increase with the JH version which is the model for guinea pigs users with the BSOD/GSOD stability issues, overheating issues etc.. -
well, cant say ive had any problems with mine...updated bios and vbios and shes just perfect.
G73sw now in stock
