The svchost on my laptop is reaching 300k memory every now and then but hovers around 200-250 k most of the time. I'm just wondering if any other G73 users have this problem.

Also I have mbam and run a full scan along with MSE couple times a week.

This isn't anything specific to your hardware, this is Windows. svchost.exe is a "handler" for any program running from a .dll, or a dynamic link library. So, whatever program is running as svchost is where you should be looking.
