Edit: Booting issue is fixed, I just have my speakers "buzzing" the whole time.

    Hello,

I'm having two annoying issues with my g73.

First which led me to the second is a sound issue. I rarely use my battery unless I'm in a hurry, I had a test so I plugged my battery and put my laptop on sleep and ran off, once I'm back home I starting having this unbearably annoying buzzing sound coming from my speaker, and to make it go I have to lower the volume.

Tried system restore, uninstalling and reinstalling different version of the sound drivers and nothing seems to work, I just hope its not a hardware problem because the sound is working perfectly when I hook my lappy to my TV or using a head set.

The frustration led me into a bigger problem, I remembered that my lappy had some sort of small operating system when booted that was set by Asus. I never knew how to access it so I kept pressing the F buttons, checking them one by one hoping it will lead me to the "Asus OS". I didn't find a way to access it, I just gave up hope and decided I'll just back up my files and try formatting my laptop hoping to solve the sound issue. Now I keep being greeted by Asus recovery thing and I have no idea how to boot windows normally.

I'm thinking of booting linux from a USB to recover my files and then just format the laptop.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and sorry for the long text!

The buzzing has been covered quite a bit and is related to a hardware problem with the JH which can also be because of the Creative software with some older version of REALTEK Sound drivers. Best thing to do is make sure they are updated. Sounds like a wailing banshee and nothing you do will stop it. I use to think that it was the badly made heatsink crying in pain. :(

You will have a system partition set up and you need to hold F9 during post or Alt and F9 to access it. If it is corrupt your only option is to use this thread and register your windows key from the bottom.

    @ Yiddo

I have my laptop for over a year now and I never had this "buzzing" issue, its very annoying. I still have 2 years warranty but I would rather not go through the hassle of sending my laptop to Asus as the one in my country sucks pretty badly and I don't trust them.

One more question, what causes this? If I send my laptop back to Asus and get fixed, what is the probability of this happening again?

I'm very disappointed with the issues I'm having with my machine, if the newer laptops suffer from these issues there will be no more Asus for me.

    Thanks a lot!

Mine did it when it was hot for instance running the CPU and GPU flat out and when cooling down it would wail for about 15 seconds then stop. I assumed that it was a hardware fault probably a part of the motherboard getting to hot and having a bit of a panic. In all the time I had my JH it did it and it was still working perfectly fine when some git broke into my house and stole it. So I don't think you need to worry.

How are your temps? Install HWINFO and run the sensors while gaming and check to make sure they are stable. Post the results back here for GPU and CPU with a screenshot if you need to.
