    Hi folks

    I'm thinking of buying this G74 model: Newegg.com - ASUS G74SX-NH71 Notebook Intel Core i7 2670QM(2.20GHz) 17.3" 12GB Memory DDR3 500GB HDD 7200rpm DL DVD±RW/CD-RW NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M

However, the main thing that goes wrong on laptops in my experience is actually the power cord, and/or the jack on the laptop. So I was wondering if somebody could post a picture of what the power cord looks like for the laptop?

I've found HP and Dell ones to be particularly bad, my ASUS EP121 tablet has one with a right angle at the plug which is far superior in terms of strength, so I'm hoping ASUS has a decent design for their laptops but wanted to check.

Jords unfortunately it is not the right angle plug!
    150 Watt AC Adapter

I am very careful with mine and use it 50/50 AC/DC (so I unplug a lot) and have had no issue in 18 months. Good luck with your new system :)

Ok thanks for that. They do look a little more reinforced than the horrible HP/Dell plugs at least... Hopefully that's enough to protect them.

Glad to help, I also have duct tape wrapped around both ends where the plugs are attached to the cord and also always let both ends sit flat like this:
