G74-SX uses normal Nvidia.com drivers, right?

I just ordered one, and scared myself when a Newegg review claims it uses switchable graphics (it doesn't, does it?) and can't use Nvidia's normal drivers.

I HOPE that person is just clueless, but thought I'd better check.

The G74 does not have Optimus and last I heard it could use them.

We generally recommend using the drivers on the ASUS website as those have been tested and work well with the system. In most cases, the new drivers straight from NVidia will work without any issues, but I have seen compatibility issues with certain models in the past. As Kuro mentioned, these machines do not come with Optimus. :)

Yes, you can use the Verde drivers released by NVIDIA. In case you have an issue where the installer does not detect your hardware, I maintain a modded version of the Verde releases on my Driver page that alleviates this issue.
