That should fit, but so should a Targus XL which is cheaper even when not on sale. That's what I'm using for my G73JH.

Thx for the reassure. Someone in the reviews said that their 73 fit as well so i went ahead and ordered. Targus looks good, but this laptop is damn heavy, didnt like the thought of all that on one shoulder for long trips haha.

Huh? There is a Targus XL backup and that is the one I'm talking about, not the messenger bag thing.

I have a 17" Targus Flare and my G74SX also fits in it. The G74SX fits snugly in the 17" Targuses...it's definitely the biggest 17" laptop I have ever seen in terms of width.

The Everki Beacon (with the NCIX link) does not fit the G74 easily in the laptop compartment. AFAIK most people with that combination use the main compartment for the G74, rather than the laptop sleeve in the back.

I opted to get the Everki Titan for my G74SX. It fits like a glove. It is easy to see that a smaller compartment would be trouble. I am very happy with this bag, although make sure to price match. The NCIX list price of $180CAD is ~225% of the market price. That's not a typo.

I'v been pondering a SLAPPA M.A.S.K. ( M.A.S.K. Laptop Backpack) -- they've been on sale down to $111 for a while now, but I'm curious to know what others are using.

Just a word of caution for those considering the Targus XL for the G74, it may fit a little too snugly in the laptop compartment, considering that it's a bit bigger in all dimensions than the G73, and my G73JH barely fits in the Targus XL without stretching.

Dont like the original asus backpack that came with it? Can pick those up cheap and I love mine. Still using it with my new non asus laptop as it seems to fit the laptops very well

Not all G74SX models came with the ASUS backpack. And if you buy the backpack separately it still costs more than better packs from other companies.
