    I'm looking at Newegg.com - ASUS G74 Series G74SX-XN1 Notebook Intel Core i7 2630QM(2.00GHz) 17.3" 12GB Memory DDR3 1333 500GB HDD 7200rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M

I have read the Anandtech and Notebookcheck reviews and they say that the G74SX has a really good quality display, but does this particular model have that same display? On the XoticPC website they give you several different display options.

Basically, I want to know if the display on this particular model of G74 is any good.

the stock display is very good and that is what the xn1 has. XoticPC has aftermarket displays that are nice as well. I have only used the stock one so I can comment on if they are truly better or not. I donts see the point in changing unless you are doing 3D movies and games.

They will use the same displays across the G series (except for the 3d models), so that should be the same. The ASUS stock displays tend to be quite good. I have one of the G series machines myself and I am satisfied with the display.

    I didn't agree.

On my G74SX , the screen is not that good ...

Blurry on resolution other than native ( i mean , REALLY blurry ) , colors are not ok ( even if they can be correct ) , you got that problem that when you have a " whole grey " screen , it flickers ( for ex , steam page )

And white are far from beeing really white.

No , really , i just saw a friend M17X , and for that same size , the screen is WAY more crappy on Asus G series.
