I sold my G53sx, got too hot for my liking and now I'm ready to buy a G74 :) Just wanted to knopw if the G74SX has the 192bit memory bus on the GPU or the cutdown 128bti liek the BB models. Also would it have a spare caddy for the second hdd bay?

Thanks, I look forward to getting one of these. They run real cool even when overclocked. My G53sx got up to 89 on the GPU. Too hot :(

    Hi,

Both answers are yes. XR1 has full 192bit bus GPU with 3Gb. Caddy is already installed inside the laptop, just check the box for the backplane, screws and ribbon cable. Hopefully you'll be using that SSD from your sig, cause original one just sucks. Oh, and would you check the speaker quality once you get it and share your observations? Btw, where are you planning to get it from?

    Thanks, gl with your purchase!

It doesn't come with a SSD this one but the 640GB drive. Yes I'll be using my OCZ 3 and 500GB momentus XT in it. I have them setting here waiting for the new G74.

Getting it from ebay. If you thought it had a SSD standard maybe your thinking of the other model thats has a ssd and hdd in the other bay. ANyone here got the G74sx-X1R ?

    The G74SX-A2 config comes with a 160 GB SSD + 750GB HDD.

Ok thanks didn't think it was the X1R spec that had the ssd either. Retailer confirmed the X1R has the 1080p screen and 3GB 560m so its 192bit mbus. I just hope Asus included a spare hdd caddy like my old G53sx.

So far the difference between the A1 and X1R are.

    the X1R model has only 1 x 640GB 5400rpm drive.
No mouse or notebook bag included. All suits me. I have a bag and a mouse..

    Anyone here got a G73sx-X1R ?

Yes, I'm aware of that it doesn't come with an SSD. I was just mentioning that original HDD sucks. 640GB 5400 RPM.

That retailer is wrong. I had XR1, but sent it back to the seller due to some issues with speakers.

When still in doubt, post which retailer you're referring to. It's could be possible someone here has had experience buying from them. I wouldn't want to get a wrong product just because some clueless sales dude pasted something off Google :D.
