    G74SX keyboard backlight stopped working

    I was watching a movie on my laptop, when I saw my keyboard backlight turn on. I found that to be a bit odd since I never realized it was off in the first place. It then turned off again for about a minute, then turned on again. Alas, the next time it turned off, it did not turn on again. Is this a software issue or a hardware issue? For the past week or so, the laptop has been turning back on randomly when I shut it off, or put it into sleep or hibernate mode, too. I'm not sure if they're related, but I figured it'd be worth mentioning.

    So far, the only thing I've tried is reinstalling the ATK package (or whatever it's called); unfortunately, that did not work.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated; thanks.
