What hard drive does G74SX-DH73 have? I read that it has 2 x 750GB 7,200rpm SATA II 3GB/s HDD. But what brand is it and what is the model number. Also, how long is the battery backup? Thanks for any reply in advance :)

Found the following post on the below website saying that it is WD. Can someone please confirm it?

“Great Layout, awesome size! Wasn't a lot of into on internal speeds found out it came with dual WD Black edu. 750GB ...”

So, approximately how long does it last? At least an hour?

I have a g73jh so I'm not sure about the g74sx-dh73. It probably last between 2-3 hrs, but that's just a guess.
Maybe you can email a reseller.

micsc: It isn't necessary to ask the same question in multiple threads.....G74 owners pretty much all congregate in the same places. ;)

As I mentioned in response to your same question in the G74 Owners' Lounge, you can get either Seagate drives (Momentus) or Western Digital drives (Scorpio) in this model. I can personally assure you of this: I've had three of these laptops....two had dual WD drives and one had dual Seagates.

(The same is true of RAM, BTW. Asus treats certain components as commodities, so the specs of the hard drives and RAM will be specified, but the brand will not. You simply cannot know which kind you'll get until your particular unit arrives.)

Oh, thanks for the reply. I kept asking at different places because I got very few replies and all uncertain answers. Were all three laptops G74SX-DH73? And were all three bought from the same place? I am keep on knowing the brand because I heard WD is much better than Seagate. Also, I want to replace one drive with a SSD. Do you know any website where which offers a good price for it? Thanks in advance :)
