Please for the love of God somone help me. All of the sudden it won't work and is showing 2 drives, neither of which will open any dvd or cd. i've uninstalled and rebooted but the same thing keeps happening. Any ideas? i've attached a screen shot of device manager and my computer.

welcome to the forum and thanks for linking the picture properly. If you only have 1 drive open device manager and uninstall both. Reboot and let us know if 1 is detected.

Thank you. When I uninstall both and reboot, it still shows 2 drives. It actually just sits there on "installing hardware" indefinitely, but when I open device manager it shows 2 drives.

looks both the two BD-drives are some sort of 'virtual' drive?...the physical one maybe not connected firmly...

Slimtype BD E is the physical BD drive (I Suppose).
From the first post, it sounded like the optical drive lens had failed to read cd or dvd.

Go into Drive Manager and see if your BR drive is being assigned a letter. You can also try disabling your virtual drives.
