Ok so, had this laptop for about 2 years, and this issue started like 2 weeks after using it. This is what happens, the touchpad either gets super erratic, i touch it and it jumps all arround, or i have to press really hard to move it, and if it stays on for days without switching the laptop off, it's almost impossible to use the touchpad, Only thing that fixes it is a shutdown, obviously only temporarily then starts again.

The Asus smartasses in this country couldn't fix it, i sent it, and they probably turned it on , touchpad was fine, sent it back saying there's no issue, and like i said the problem isn't always there, just most the time, and since the laptop would have been shutdown for a while before they try it, it would be perfect during their testing.

I take it again, and the other guy tells me to look for viruses, i don't know where he got his degree, but even i know that it can't be the issue . ( Nevertheless, i have licensed Eset antivirus that runs bi-weekly .

Eventually i gave up, and just kept using the mouse, now it's annoying me again since i started watching movies on my laptop on the sofa, in bed, etc.

Anyone know what i can do? Chastity? anyone ? :(

Currently Running Sentelic 9.1.3.5 , i tried 9.1.7.7 and it's the same if not worse.

This laptop's a gem if it isn't for this problem,

In my experience, this issue was never properly addressed, tho I have had some success using the drivers released from the touchpad manufacturer instead of Asus. Or just use the MS released versions and forget about gestures.

I gave up on my touchpad, and use an Anywhere MX mouse.

I know it's an annoying issue, but each person when they see the system for the first time is going to make a stab at the issue and start at the basics, they obviously were not aware of the known issue.
