G74Sx-A1 questions...

Hi,

I have two questions basically about this laptop.
1- Is it only me or the keyboard isn't really easy to type on it? I mean, I'm having many misses, especially with the spacebar. It is probably the design, but hitting a key in the corner usually doesn't trigger the characters. It's like I need to press hard on each key or really put my finger in the middle of the key to be sure it's "clicking". I'm asking because if nobody else is experiencing this, maybe my keyboard is faulty?

2- If I'm using an external monitor (and keyboard), can I play games with the lid closed? On my G51, I needed to leave the lid open because if not the GPU was reaching like 100+ deg celcius. It even stopped suddently at one time. I was explained after this that air was flowing from above the keyboard. Is it the same thing with the G74??

You can sure play with the Lid off ( never tried , but the cooling system won't let you go down , my card never reached more than 60° after hours of gaming )

And no , it's not you. The Keyboard of the G74 is the worst keyboard i've ever seen in my life.

 

That's a shame... I don't have lot of bad things to say about this laptop. But the keyboard and the fact that the sound comes from behind the screen isn't great.

Any chance Asus produces and sell another keyboard fitting the G74 so we can change it. I HATE the spacebar...
