I'm on the verge of getting a g75 but I don't understand one thing. How does ds71 cost $1690 with a 660m & an extra 720gb HDD and a Mouse, and the rs72 cost $1415 with a 670m? is 660m THAT more powerful? or is it the extra 750G HDD and the small accessory mouse that expensive?

I'm really interested in the fact that 660m suffices my desire to play games at decent graphix settings, and most of all, I'm interested on how it consumes less power and runs cooler.

    Open to suggestions.

    Thank you!

660M is new technology the 670M is a rebranded 570M which is (40nm) so the performance difference is minimal and the 660M will benefit more in terms of power consumption.

It will most likely be the added extras which increase the price however.

but 670 is more expensive and better in performance from nVidia. What troubles me is that, I can put a 680m in a custom g75 that would cost less than the g75 with 660 (1800). but I want 660! at a good price!

You cannot put a 680m in a G75 all attempts to implement a new GPU into anything but the G73JH has not been successful. I would take the 660M personally.

sorry i meant sager, which rounds up to less than 1800. but I agree with you, I would take the 660m, but are you sure you'll pay 1800 for a g75 with 660m? and not pay 1400 for a 670m?

Asus is overpriced this time, for $1800 I'd just go with Sager/Clevo with a GTX680M. The performance you get is more than doubling almost tripled the GTX660M.

If you want a G75 with a kepler 660m that's cheaper than the overpriced DS7 version is to get the bestbuy version of it. You only pay 1,250 and add a lil bit of tax and it'll be under 1,400 and problem solved.

I got a very bad impression from posts about getting g75 from bestbuy. they say they have the worst batch of g75s..I'm a cooling enthusiasts and I was wondering if I could get that IC DIAMOND compound on the heatsinks, that probably being the only reason i want to get this from xoticPC, i'll still wait and see if the prices change.
