    PROS:
    Aesthetic
    Dual Ventilation
Battery Life (3-4 hours on normal usage with WiFi and 10% brightness)
    Backlit Keyboard
    Decent sound quality (Headphones)
Price = MSI GE 60 2OE GTX 675m (At my place their both selling at 2.2k)

    CONS:
Decent speakers with subwoofer but vibrates and shakes the components (or could be distortion) when above 50% volume making very noticeable metallic screeches.
    Heavy
Cleaning of Fans is a hassle

Looks nice. Kind of reminds me of the G73JH just a bit more slick. :)

The backpack and mouse are still the same as on the G73 ? thats a bit odd.
How is the cleaning of the fans a con ? even with compressed air ?

    No prob man! :D

Yes, unfortunately the backpack hasn't been updated with the new G750. Though maybe the types of freebies differs by region :D
Cleaning of fans is a hassle because you've got to disassemble the entire laptop to get to the fans, not sure how good compress air will be as a cleaning solution though. Could it clean fans through the exterior of the chassis?

UPDATE: By the way I'm beginning to get annoyed with the built in speakers, they produce crisp sound but i'm not sure if it's distortion or simply due to the subwoofer's vibration that produces extremely annoying metallic screeches. I'm not sure if this is only for my unit or every other G750 has this issue. So for now i'm gonna list the speakers as a con instead of a pro until i get this sorted out.

    First, nice video. Thanks!
How deep is that laptop? Those vents on the back look like they add almost 2 inches to what looks to already be a huge laptop. I don't think I'd want to be carrying that thing around in a backpack anywhere.

I have the G73JH, which is most likely heavier/bigger than the G750, with the same backpack. I've never had an issue lugging it around in the back as the laptop fits snug inside, and the backpack has a front chest snap. It's very comfortable wearing, and there's no strain on your shoulders.

Lugging around the laptop without the backpack, however, is awkward. There's no need to do that beyond your own home though.

Glad you find this video helpful! By deep, do you mean how deep the bass can go? The subwoofer is able to pump out a moderate amount of bass but maxing the bass settings in MAXXAudio will cause the subwoofer to produce distortion. As for the vents, it really doesn't look that bad. It's actually the laptop's rubber grooves beneath it that rises the laptop a bit and make it look thick as it can often be mistaken as the laptop blends in the shadows.
As for the portability of this laptop, I've been using this beast in college for 2 weeks now and my back is still going strong. The backpack that came along with this laptop is great and distributes the weight nicely, plus the design of the backpack is slim and pretty stylish unlike other laptop backpacks which would bulge out looking as though you're out on a camping trip. :D

Well said. The backpack comes with decent weight distribution. It looks rather sleek and slim for a laptop backpack which is what I would be looking for in a backpack. :D

How is the display on your model? Also, how is the build quality? Does it feel like it could withstand a drop? Does the plastic feel sturdy? Sorry for the number of questions, I am just thinking of purchasing a G750JX, but the build quality and screen are the only reasons I am withholding a purchase.

The display on my model is, pretty decent. Great viewing angles, above standard color reproduction (blacks and whites) and great brightness level (though the max my eyes can take is 20% brightness level). The only thing that's not to my liking is the tiny sparkle/dirt/artifact which can be seen when i'm close to the screen.

The build quality feels premium. Gotta love the soft touch rubber-like exterior, the cool to the touch aluminium palm rest, the high quality trackpack and click buttons, the keyboard's tactile feeling, and the sturdy lid. The build quality may not be perfect, but it is certainly better than most other laptops currently out there.

As for drop test, I will definitely not know whether it will be able to withstand because I will never drop this baby. It does feel that the chassis may crack a little if dropped though, due to it's weight, but someone has gotta try it to know. Plus I don't think any laptop for that matter, is drop-proof anyway.

The plastic does feels very sturdy. In fact it doesn't feels like plastic due to its texture. No sign of flex on the lid.

    To summarize:
    Build Quality: 8/10
    Screen: 7/10

No probs about the questions, just keep them coming. :D

Thanks for sharing, I am very close to purchasing this one but I have one thing that is holding me back. Is this laptop very portable at all? I need a laptop for college in a month and will have to take this to classes every day. I have no problem if it's heavy, but if it's form factor is very thick and large, i'm worried i'll look way out of place and i'll get sick of taking it around everywhere. Kind of silly, I know, but that's how I feel :p. I would really like a machine like this though to play demanding games at high settings on a larger screen during my off time. Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am new to laptops and only have experience with desktops in the past.

Hi Hoytech, before i bought this laptop I was like you considering the weight and size. After a few days I decided that the size isn't much of a deal since it's only gonna be larger by a couple inches, which leaves only the weight to consider. There after, i gathered all the strong points on this laptop, dual exhaust vents, super silent fans, 2.1 speaker system, backlit keyboard, 8-cell battery with above average battery life (Up to 4hrs of web surfing) and lastly, smexy and above average aesthetics. The only downside (i could think of) about this laptop is the weight and ONLY if you're an extreme upgrade enthusiast (the soldered CPU). So as I'm not that hype about laptop upgradeability, i figured all i had to sacrifice was the weight and decided to go for it.

I've been using this beast for 2 weeks now and have been carrying it on the supplied ROG backpack 5 days a week to and from college, the weight is noticeable but it's still at the comfortable zone for me. When I use this machine in school some of my mates told me that they regretted not spending another 300-400 bucks more to get a better machine like the G750. So good luck on making your decision :D

Thanks for the response, :) It's very helpful to have that perspective. I most likely won't be doing any upgrading, so that's not much of a concern for me. If it's great to go out of the box, that will be perfect. I have also made a thread in the "What Notebook Should I Buy?" section about purchasing a laptop that will best fit my needs. So far I have gotten feedback suggesting the Alienware 17 if I want to go the dtr route. What is your opinion on that notebook comparatively to the G750jx? If I were able to get one for a better or similar price with similar specs would it be worth getting over the G750? If you have any hands on experience with it, does it have (or appear to have) a similar or smaller profile as far as dimensions and weight go?

It's unfortunate that I don't have any shops that carry these laptops anywhere close to me, as it would be much easier if I could test one out. So i'm having to go off of others reviews. So far this one is sounding encouraging though :D

Hi Hoytech, I've seen the new Alienware 17 and even the Alienware 18. They look unique but the previous design seems better. Didn't get to test it as much as the G750 but here is what i notice while playing around with the Alienware 17.

    I noticed:
It seemed slightly bigger and thicker than the G750JX.
The keyboard is comfortable and is pleasing to touch plus the backlit is stunning with customization for the colors.
The machine comes with the Alienware control centre or whatever they call it, i think the design of the app looks cool plus offers quite an amount of customization tools.
The machine has Klipsch speakers, but didn't get to test so not sure if they produce moderate sound quality.
The touchpad glows and the click buttons have good tactile feedback.

Comparing it to G750JX, I'll still pick the G750 over alienware 17/18 simply due to:
Revamp design (which is ugly to me, prefer the stealthy design of the G750)
Price (Way overpriced over here, the starting price of the same specs (GTX 770m and 4700MQ) is $1000 more than the G750)
Weight (It feels slightly heavier than the G750)

This is all I know about the Alienware 17. Good luck making a decision :D

It is actually lighter than the G750, but it is thicker and the design is meh, you either love it or hate it ...
The Klipch speakers are 2nd to none, the prices on the website are what they are, but you can haggle them down, apparently at the moment people have been getting them down to 2000$ with coupons! with 780m, I7 4700 and 1080p screens, which is quite good considering .
I am not trying to advertise for Alienware, both laptops are great .
