    Hi -

I am having a bit of a screen issue that has me stumped, I've owned this laptop for about three weeks and I'm getting a little frustrated with a few monitor issues I can't seem to be able to calibrate, also there's another issue I can't seem to fix.

There's an ongoing gradient issue with the colours - it doesn't seamlessly slide into another colour, it's very blocky. It doesn't seem to affect the games I play at all - in fact it affects only the desktop, photoshop and when I watch movies / videos on youtube even on HQ. The games I play do not have a gradient block issue. The gradient will look something like (((( ))))) (if that makes any sense) But I fire up a game and it's flawless.

The gradient issue is most obvious on photoshop when I do a coloured gradient layer into black, blue will change to green and yellow with obvious rectangles. On steam, the grey background will have ===== lines of yellow green and pinkish in sets of three, duplicated all over the screen.

There's also a black small rectangle that flickers all over my screen in a random pattern every few minutes in a screen refreshing pattern. It's really noticeable against a white background like Word. Before I go see the tech I purchased this from I just want to know if it's something I can fix myself or it has to be returned?

Plus the matte screen is very noticeable, the screen almost seems kind of grainy against light backgrounds.

    Totally stumped.

Have you tried updating the video drivers?

    Check video drivers !

and the Gradient grainy pixels on solid light colors (white, light blue etc) will be noticable with certain Mattes displays. Although good quality ones won't have this problem.

Asus went cheap on their Matte screens for G-Series. but they still produce excellent color reproduction and viewing angle though.

If it bothers you, i'd suggest you upgrade the matte screen or get Glossy

There is nothing a user can do to fix this (except a new type of panel). And Asus will let it slide since it's past generation anyway. I wonder how the new ones perform. So far reports are not great, but I must see one for myself.

To get a 3d panel working it usually does have to be an original part of the design. That was a very nice swap they gave you.

I tried sending you a PM but your inbox is full

I wanted to ask about shipping laptops from your store to Dubai

hey mate, laptops here suck as the retailr stores give us very minimal specs and even if you want to pay more to get a higher specced one, you cant

I have not found a supplier which ships internationally and accepts paypal, the only one I found was XOTIC PC and they need a wire transfer

anyway now since I got a free laptop from ASUS I wont be upgrading an time soon but would still like to know if you do offer international shipping and what the approx price for shipping
    thanks
