Hi all. The screen on my G75VX-BHI7N11 took a hit recently and needs to be replaced. There's no signs of external damage, so I could RMA for a replacement but don't want to wait, so I am considering upgrading to a higher quality matte 120 Hz panel. I don't care for 3D vision... I just like the smoothness of 120 Hz refresh rate.

From what I've read online, the 3D panels are 120 Hz, but use a 50 pin cable vs the 40 pin cable my non-3D panel takes.

    Does anyone know if:
There are 120 Hz panels that take a 40 pin connector?
    or
Will a 50 pin connector work with a G75VX-BHIN11 or is the connector on the MB different between 3D and non-3D G75VXs?

Any other suggestions on what panel to go with?

My previous G75VW had a matte screen which I hated so much. I asked the ASUS Service center to change it to a 3D screen for the same reasons you mentioned and I asked for a glossy one

when they changed it, they ended up burning my laptop's motherboard and giving me the laptop you see in my sig for free as a replacement under warranty.

the connecters are a problem and are not compatible

    i suggest you sell it

Connector is different on the MB side of things? Strange...
