I don't think Microsoft likes this machine. The anniversary update broke sleep, hibernate, and shutdown. After a lot of online research and jumping through a bunch of hoops I don't remember, everything was fixed and working perfectly. The January 10 update broke sleep on this machine, and I can't fix it to save my life. Now, I can get the machine to go to sleep and wake up properly ONCE per boot cycle. If I try to get it to sleep a second time on the same boot cycle, the screen goes blank, but the computer continues running per the power led on the front of the machine. I cannot get the screen to come back on, and the only thing that works is a forced shut down by holding the power key down for several seconds. Hibernate works properly, and the machine can be hibernated multiple times on a single boot cycle without any problems. Everything else works fine on the machine, the troubleshooter can't find any problems. Initially, the machine had the (older) drivers and bios it shipped with. All drivers are now the most current versions, and the bios is 300 (most current). Updating the drivers and bios didn't help. I had read that the newer IMEI drivers (above 11) could be the problem, so I've tried multiple IMEI drivers, both in the 10 range, and presently 9.5.24.1790. None of these efforts have changed the behavior a bit. I normally use sleep a lot, and this is really bugging me. Any help?
