I dont know why but accdng to GPU-Z my GPU clock has been stuck at 500mhz during gaming and while not gaming.

I tried changing the battery performance setting but it was still just at high performance via power4gear hybrid. Also, I disabled overdrive (i had my OC at 750/1000)...but setting it back to 700mhz didnt help. It would raise or lower from 500 mhz.

HELP! what cause this and how i fix it?

This is on a G73JH? If that's the case, close any videos in your browser or otherwise if they are opened. It might be something like the UVD clocks taking precedence although i find it strange that the clocks are at 500MHz rather than 400MHz, what vbios are you on?

You could also try a reinstall of the video drivers.

As far as I know, (just like @tijo stated) the videos is the main cause for this issue. Again after turning on the notebook from sleep mode, the clocks may not raise back to its default levels (I dunno if this problem still exists.) So a restart shall be enough to solve your problem.

That happened to me before. As stated above, its most likely because of videos being open.

remember not to use Mozilla Firefox
i was a big fan of it but yesterday i heard fan increasing and making noise (and actually i knew it was doing that all the time)
then i monitored and saw that when i scroll GPU goes to 700Mhz very oftenly

i have tried to disable GPU rendering from the options but no sucess so now i am happy google Chrome user
