Hey all. I got my G74 in January and have been using it with the GPU moderately overclocked. Sometimes when i start games, the GPU core speed stays at 203mhz and refuses to rise, regardless of my settings on EVGA Precision. How do I "wake up" my card? The only way I know of to rectify this is to restart the comp.

Temperatures are normal and there are no noticeable problems other than this card throttling issue im having.

If anyone knows whats going on here Id appreciate the help!

Were you still getting idle clock at default? Best to try it having the EVGA removed to isolate the problem.

What tool are you using for checking the clocks? Have you tried other tools (e.g. hwinfo64) for consistency of you problem?

Have you tried to reinstall your Power4Gear?

I heard that Power4gear causes problems when u overclock with a gpu overclocking software. Try getting the Asus GPU tweak(uninstall evga first) and clock to the ae clock. If the pc still goes bonkers, it might be something else. If it works, EVGA is not working right for u. If both doesnt work then make a copy of ur pc with the "time machine function" then uninstall power4gear. If it fixed it, then great. If it did not work, revert your pc back when p4g was installed.

if you look online this is a problem with all the g7 series even my g72gx does this if you find a perm fix shoot me a pm other then that just get used to restarting before you game not a big deal since your comp should boot in a bout a minute
