I've had this laptop for about 2 years now. Recently, the temps on the GPU have been hovering around 105 degrees celsius. I've cleaned out the fan on the heat sink and blown out everything I could, but it still occurs. Does anyone have any thoughts as to what to try next?

    Appreciate it.

Repasting the gpu and cpu, hopefully your not gonna tell me you ever took either of the heat pipes off and put them back on without doing it either, cause that would have been a bad thing.

My VT with the 9800M is starting to run about 10C hotter im due for a good cleaning, repaste for the hell of it.

I haven't taken the heat pipes off yet. So, I need to get some thermal paste. Thanks much. :)

Get 100% metal paste for absolutely best results, like coollaboratory liquid ultra, although it is also very conductive so can be dangerous.

The G50V heatsink contact area is all copper so it's fine, but don't put 100% metal paste on aluminum heatsinks because of corrosion.

Im still deciding whether im changing brands or not. Im out of AS5 and it worked fine for me but when your always pushing the envelope, something better is always in order.

Once you pull the heatsinks out you will be able to access the screws to the fan and get a proper cleaning. The heatpipe fins are separate but connected by a rubber strip at the top. Best not to separate if u dont have to. The gpu heatpipe and fins comes out second kinda rocks out. Might be a little weird getting back in.

Thanks for the info guys. I just put new thermal compound on the gpu and fired up world of warcraft. Normally it would be running around 103 celsius, right now it's hovering around 83.
