Is anyone able to run the Heaven benchmark with wireframe on without it dying? I'm currently running the MSI BIOS and it seems to be doing better. Had it benching all day in various games(Alien Swarm, L4D2, UT3, Crysis, etc) with out any problems, but that Heaven benchmark with the wireframe kills it every time. Perhaps it could be the software itself?

Nope, runs fine. Even in extreme tessellation works fine.

Yes. I'm on Catalyst 10.6, stock vBIOS.

If i remember right, I couldn't do the wireframe on the original stock video drivers.

Yeah, so I learned that the hard way. Using the MSI vBios and the latest 10.6 drivers I've been running solid, no problems or GSOD's at all.

Just flashed using the mod'd ASUS bios, the "****tard edition", and it just survived 30 minutes of the most intense furmark settings, where previously it would lock after about 7 minutes worth. Gonna play some games then report back and see if the good times keep rolling.

Am i one of the lucky ones that got a G73 that only GSODs in furmark? All other games run 100% fine....

Using the modded ASUS vbios I can survive two hours of furmark ultimate burn, and hours of FEAR2, WoW, and AvP. I think that's the cure, right there. Saved me from having to exchange it again.

Yes it is known issue. It was confirmed by Chastity that VGA port on this vbios doesn't work.

Thanks for the clarification. I was under the presumption that the edited bios would retain the VGA ability.

Nevertheless, thanks everyone for making this vbios possible!

No... Only work around. Popular one being ziddy's v3. Thou i don't use it. Stick around and something good would probably appear. There seems to be one being tested out as we speak.

You need newer drivers to run wireframe, its a known bug in the old ones. If you dont need HDMI and VGA you should already be happy with the MSI vBios and using the latest drivers.

Yeah- don't use clevo vBIOS. You can try blind-flashing but otherwise you'll need to call ASUS for an RMA.

yea just call up asus and send it in to them. They will probably have to replace the motherboard.

Yet another BRICKED G73 by someone who didn't bother to read the threads completely and used the wrong vBIOS from a different manufacturer. That's 2 in the last 7-10 days.. Who knows how many others, but just haven't posted here..

Again, I recommend that someone get a sticky up that warns the less informed that using non-ASUS vBIOS could make their machine USELESS.

    Just a thought...

    In Peace and Agape,

I have a Good question and hopefully this site can answer it

OK now there is new vBios out, but with the vBios, Bios 211 and driver 10.8 is there an increase in FRAPS

if your asking for increase in fps which also states inrease in graphices performance or stability then yes there is in 10.8 compared to the older drivers. with regards to the bios 211 stability is what you gain from it and some other stuff i cant remember.lol
