I apologize if this is answered somewhere else, but when I tried to search the forum, it kept giving me an error message :"Could not find phrase 'invalid_search_query'."
Anyways, my GPU constantly runs at 100% during gaming. These games include SWTOR, SC2, and Diablo 3. I have the settings turned to as high as they run while still playable.
I read in another thread that the GPU can suffer thermal damage if it is constantly running at 100%.I game for HOURS sometimes and I'm worried that the GPU might become damaged.
Is this true and is this a bad thing? Is there anything I can do?
Im running a G73-SW completely stock.
Thanks
Thanks

The load percentage isn't what's important (though there's some correlation). Rather, it's just like you said, thermal damage. You should pay attention to the heat. See what temperatures you're getting.

Fully utilized GPU is what everyone is looking for, if not then either your game or the driver isn't optimal. What causes damage is the heat, not the GPU usage. Normally, 90C+ is bad for the GPU.

Ah thanks everyone. My temperatures while gaming are ~78-80 C.

it's normal
You want to use 100% from GPU
just check temps
GTX 460M GPU 100% during gaming
