All my games crash to a screen of lines on my new laptop! and it makes a loud noise! I updated the drivers and flashed the bios to 211. what should I do or how can I fix this?
-
have you updated the vBios? Link
-
I will try that now and see what happens, thank you!
-
If all else fails the stock ati drivers work great.
-
-
ok,it crashed with the lines across the screen again right after I started a game like the sims 3! what else can I do?
-
have you properly installed the new vBIOS? You shouldn't have these errors... check your vBIOS version using GPU-Z... your flash might have failed or not worked... if it has changed , i suggest you reflash again by using chasity's vBIOS from page 2-3 of the thread... than uninstall your old drivers , run driver sweeper and download the new driver.

You haven't mentioned if you updated the vBIOS.
-
sorry,I updated the vbios as the article said and I still get the lines.
-
Can you please confirm the vBIOS version number you have installed with us?
-
If you've updated the bios (but not the vbios), you can just install the driver package on the ASUS dvd, and your problem won't occur.
Also, what games are crashing? Zombie driver and Black Ops are buggy and crash all on their own, no matter what... a few others out there do too. -
the Vbios version is 012.020.000.032.0383.G730 and the games are civilization 5 the sims 3 and battlefield bad company 2.
I updated both the bios and the Vbios.
Is there anyhting else I can I do? I mean I just got this laptop from best buy on xmas eve! what should I do call best buy and get a replacement? contact asus or is there something else? -
Take a screenshot of the crash and post it here. It may not be a GSOD.

Aaron,
DCx is correct. Go with the default video driver from Asus. I've tried to link it here:

Flash your vBIOS to the only complete stable one that works for me. You can find it here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus-gaming-notebook-forum/508322-updates-asus-102.html

OK, so you have 211 + the latest vBIOS. Now that THAT is settled, we can move on to drivers. First thing I would try is disabling all features in your Creative app. Also, try plugging into a wired LAN connection, and turning off the WiFi. Let's see if this gets rid of your instability. If not, I'm going to have you remove your existing ATI drivers completely, run ATI Crap Cleaner, and then use the 10.12 Hotfix drivers I posted recently in another thread.
Let me know what your results are. -
Were do you get the hotfix drivers at?
