I'm having issues with certain games where at random times the screen will lock up, stay that way for a couple of seconds and then resume. It becomes a little annoying. Strange thing is, its only on certain games.

So far I have updated to Gary's VBIOS, unparked the cores, updated to BIOS 211, and updated to the newest Catalyst 10.10C.

I'm currently searching the forum database for what the issue might be. I'm going to guess its the Creative issue that is resolved with the Realtec Drivers. Can someone please confirm this, or point me in the right direction.

I will continue to search, but will look here for guidance. Thanks.

No I didn't. Thank you for the response.

After some more research another option is the possibility is the GPU is downclocking itself and causing a freeze.

    Still researching

    Try to check your temps.

    It could be overheating.

If you think it's a downclocking issue, try using the AMD GPU Tool and clock to 700/1000. That way it'll be stable at 700/1000 without up or downclocking. If it still crashes, you'll know it's not a downclocking issue.

Thanks Phnx. I'll try that and report back.

No Dice. Just downloaded GPU tool and set clocks at 700 and 1000 (although they were already there, I thought they were supposed to be at 405).

Here is a quick video. You can see that audio continues, but the video stops, then comes back on.

    *Edit*

Well I adjusted the clock back to 405 (I think that was where it was supposed to be with the new VBios anyway) and it seems to run flawlessly. I ran it for about 30-45 minutes and not one lockup, Knock on wood.

Thanks for the help. Hopefully it stays this way.

Cuban, I believe that 405/1000 are the idle clocks. You should be able to run at 700/1000 with no problems. Without the AMD clock tool, you'll sit on 405/1000 until you turn on a graphically demanding program, where the system will shoot up to 700/1000. But if you're stable at 405/1000, then keep it there. I don't believe you're utilizing the full potential of the card at these clocks, however, which is a problem in itself.

Now you know the problem has to do with clocks though, you can work from there.

Thanks. Yea, I just downloaded a benchmarking tool. I'm also just increasing my clock so that I can see where I become stable at. Currently at 650 and still testing.

    Thanks for your help again

Disable PowerPlay in CCC and try your games again.

Chastity thanks for your response. I've had PowerPLay Disabled the whole time, sorry for not saying previously.

Currently testing at 687, 690 was not stable.

    Edit, now testing 685.

Getting frustrated. Seems to run at 685, but I want it to run stable at stock. I guess I should try to uninstall, driver sweeper, and ccleaner.

How do i run driver sweeper and ccleaner in safe mode? do i just type ati and delete all of them? Nevermind, should have looked at the programs before i asked.

Forgot to disable PowerPlay. Checking again with stock clocks.

Again, same thing. Going to try Creative Audio Center in the sticky.

*Edit* That didn't work either. I'm thinking about doing a Factory restore and working my way up. Any other ideas? Should I try 10.10 instead of 10.10C?
