I recently got Crysis 2 for the PC and I've been playing it on my laptop. I have to admit that my graphics card gets really hot while playing it, which is no surprise since it's Crysis 2. I'm not entirely worried about it because I've played other games that make it run just as hot, (102 Degrees Celsius) Yea I know that's crazy temps, but that's why I'm posting here. So I can make sure that these temps arn't going to damage my graphics card.
If you guys are curious to what temps my computer runs at for specific games.
-League of Legends (Max Specifications): Max temp of 85 Degrees Celsius
-Starcraft 2 (Medium Settings): Max temp of 87 Degrees Celsius
-Crysis 2 (1280x1024 Resolution): Max temp of 102 Degrees Celsius
I've also played Far Cry 3 before and it would run at a max of 105 Degrees Celsius. This temp made me a little nervous though so I only made it half way through the game before I gave up. I was afraid my graphics card would overheat. Although I've never had my computer shut down on me for heating issues before. I just put new Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound on it and I just bought a new cooling pad that has 2 140mm fans that can spin between 1500RPM-2600RPM. The fan definitely helped drop my temps about 10 degrees Celsius (to the temps I listed above). I've only had 1 game, I think it was Far Cry 3 that made my graphics card hit 106 Degrees Celsius and that's what made me stop playing it, but this was before I got the fan and added new thermal compound to the GPU/CPU/and the motherboard.
I've had temps like this for awhile now. I bought this computer over 3 years ago and it used to run a little cooler. Probably like 5C cooler. So it hasn't really heated up much other the past 3 years, but I've never had my computer shut down on me because it's overheated. I've ran games at 105C for a few hours at times and my computer is still trucking it today. So I'm not like freaking out over whether or not my computer is going to set on fire, I'm just curious to if these temperatures are normal for my graphics card. Someone else on another forum that directed me here said that he did some research and my graphics card's thermal limit is 120C, but it will start throttling at 105C, which sound about right since it never really goes about 105C. If any of you have the same model of Asus that I have and you've modded it somehow to decrease the temps, I would really appreciate some advice. I've tried everything at this point.
Anyways, as for my system specifications,
It's a Asus G60VX-RBBX05, although I did upgrade the Proccessor from a 2.13Ghz to a 2.8 Ghz.
-Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
-Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 2.8Ghz
-Ram: 4GB DDR2
-Graphics Card: Nvidia Geforce GTX 260M
If you need more information on my system specifications, just let me know and I'll try to find them.

I've fixed a lot of ROG laptops with the 260M and they always run hot before/after. You should do the cooling mod and see what your temps max at in the game.
