I'm trying to optimize my gaming for crysis 2, using Nvidia's web page but I'm not quite getting the results I was hoping for. I'm assuming I don't have the same video card because below it says its 3g Vram. Whats the difference between the 2? And why would they share the same product name but different VRAM?

I'm using the Geforce GTX 560M 2g V0ram. Can someone give me the optimal settings for Crysis 2 and bf3 beta please. Thanks!

Well obviously your not seeing the same performance as the 3gig one because your has a 128 bit memory bus while the 3 gig model has a 192 bit thus giving it 50% more memory bandwidth.

If you really want to see something funny about Nvidia's naming scheme, look into the GeForce GT555m. They have two completely different chips, running at different clocks yet bear the same name.

sorry, im just confused, I used nvidia's scanning tool to see what video card I have and it says i have 192 cores, 2.04GB and a clock speed of 775MHZ

im guessing cores is not bit memory?

    I feel crappy now

They are indeed two different things. Download GPU-Z and it will tell you exactly what the bandwidth is.

Cores/shaders or w/e manufacturers call them these days do the processing
Memory receives and sends data to the cores

The bus is what allows the two to communicate. The wider the bus, the more information can pass between the cores and memory at the same time. This can make a huge difference in intensive games and this is why you see lower performance on your 2GB card than on 1.5 or 3GB since you're limited to 128-bit bus width instead of 192-bit.
