Just happened to be checking places online and noticed that this site has them in stock. I just called and spoke with Eddie and was reassured that they do indeed have stock and will be getting more Friday! He also explained to me that if the site shows not in stock to call them directly to confirm..he said most likely they are still in stock even if online shows different.

it was here long ago... but i would recommend that u don't buy from BTOtech... it gave a person here on this forum a G73 with i7-820qm ES instead of actualy retail /OEM one... this is scamming...stay away from this.

I remember reading what happened with BTOtech...you should run a search and read the whole deal, then decide if you will purchase from them or not...

I Also heard they offered the guy a full refund with shipping paid. But I agree I am not a fan of what they did.If I am a noob I would never be able to know my machines running an es processor.

They also don't provide the recovery and driver discs with the A2. You have to pay an extra $30 for them. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the A1 and A2 come with them and only the BB version doesn't? When I asked he said that "As of mid march asus has stopped including any disks with their channel notebooks in america. this was something pushed by bestbuy".

They're the cheapest resellers I can find that will ship to Australia. Do people know of any others that will? hidevolution do as well but theirs is more expensive...was $1595 but recently pushed up to $1650..

What does ES mean? Isn't Asus going to still support the notebook anyway, and having a free upgrade is awesome.

ES = Engineering Sample. ES CPUs are not meant to be sold or transferred to anyone and are technically the property of Intel. They are given to specific companies/organizations for testing purposes only. It is illegal to sell or give away ES chips. ES CPUs are not covered by Intel's warranty either.

Why must everyone always abbreviate today? This society has become so dumbed down for those type of things.

No look at your signature. You have Samsung Led? Why not write light emitting diode? Same thing common abbreviations.

Can't agree with what I read above. Yes there was an incident with CPU, but they offered him full refund. I am dealing with them and planing to deal in future. Eddie replyed on every mail I sent. Just read feedbacks on resselerrating for BTO tech. I can tell you that incidents happens, but you cannot advise to deal or not deal with them based on one bad deal when there are many good ones.
    Sorry for off -topic

We possibly need an entire new topic of available stock "sightings" of the G73, since it seems to run out pretty quick.

Or it could just be your lack of knowledge when it comes to computer parts...ES is the labeling intel puts right on the actually cpu. Its not like you knew what a engineering sample cpu was and didn't understand the abbreviation, you didn't know about either one.

I ordered the last A2 earlier today, it also shipped out today. The problem was with a upgraded cpu, not a stock laptop so I am not to worried. I had preordered on amazon on the 15th, im going to cancel that order as soon as it comes in.

Ordered, and out for delivery TODAY! Extremely fast shipping and Eddie @ BTO was having it inspected so i shouldn't get a dud and have to deal with RMA.

Mine arrived today, I didnt do any customizing so all the seals was still intact. I wouldnt have any problems buying from BTO again.

yoyo, I am sure by august there will be a new bigger and better laptop out so I am sure there will be a price drop by then.

Sorry for being late to the party, (sheesh. this thread was already on page 8, after only 6 days since the last post), but I wanted to add that I also purchased a G73Jh-A2 from BTO, (3rd Asus purchased from them), and I had them upgrade the ODD to BD, RAM to 1333, and the CPU to 920XM. It arrived after about 1 week from order date, after their configuration and burn in, and everything works fine. The 920XM installed is a production CPU and I've already upgraded the RAM, and the HDDs to SSDs.

It's probably worth noting that among Asus authorized US resellers, representatives from not only BTO Tech, but also GentechPC, and Powernotebooks, regularly post helpful stuff on the NBR forums. Recently, at least two posts described problems forum members had with upgrading the CPU in the G73Jh with a 920XM, and it was BTO Tech that posted the correct information here, (which almost noone would have been able to figure out on their own). I suppose in the end analysis, after you perform your due diligence and research, you should take all of the good buying experiences along with the bad, when deciding who to buy from.

Anyway, I'll probably have to turn in my ROG membership, since I mostly use Linux, (Windows 7 for work), and while I game a little on Linux, it's not the reason I bought this beast. (Probably means I should give up my backpack and mouse too, I guess..). I'm now halfway through my G73Jh dual boot configuration, (Linux/Windows 7), after I just finished my clean install of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on it. So as soon as I'm finished with my second half, (Linux), of my dual boot configuration on my new N80Vp, I'll be tackling Linux on the G73Jh.

    Good Luck..

i think i said this a million times already. the guy with the es cpu got a product that was not available anywhere. our major competitors were advertising 6 weeks delay while he got it within 1 week. there is no pleasing him. the guy also tried to hit me up for a free 920xm es cpu. people here love to criticize me for doing whatever however none of the critics mention anything about me getting him a notebook that was sight unseen for 6 weeks to follow. that is ironic
