I've just watched the G73JH disassembly video guide and I was wondering if I can remove the keyboard and surface panel so as to gain access to the ventilators, without actually gutting the notebook (it's overheating and I guess the fans need to be unclogged). Do I have to proceed with the disassembly as described in the video until the motherboard removal part or there's easier (safer) way of getting access to the fans (probably from the inside)?

Like Chuck Norris would say: It's the only way!

If its overheating you should try and clean the vents out using some compressed air. If that doesnt work, open it up and repaste your GPU.
