Hey there guys! I am getting the Asus G73 tomorrow and very excited! This is the one I am getting. I have read through some reviews and user remarks, this is what I would do when I get my laptop, is there anything else you can add?

    1) Remove Creative drivers (looks like it does give problems to audio)
    2) Download the latest 10.4 ATI graphics drivers (from here)
    3) Download the latest Intel chip drivers (from here)

Anything else you guys can suggest or add? Or maybe things you have done to make you G73 run better in any way?

    Many thanks

If you use Atheros WiFi card, download latest drivers here

I also uninstalled Intel Management Engine or whatever they want to call it. Serves no purpose unless you are a network admin.

Download the latest RealTek Drivers from RealTek.

    Install ATi Stream here
    - A lot of people reporting better performance with this.

I also run Windows Update once a week as I turned off automatic update. Annoys me when it is updating when I'm trying to play games or downloading something else already.

Wow, a thread I can relate to! One question, if I uninstall the creative drivers, will I still get sound, or will I have to find a replacement? Thanks.

I'd also do a clean install of Windows 7. It seemed to really help make things run better, so I wouldnt waste time uninstalling bloatwared and updating drivers, just do a new format.

Even though I spent some time cleaning up the original install, it still ran crappy compared to when I just did a new format.

Above post, yeah you will have sound. Even if you uninstalled the Realtek drives you'd have sound do to MS default drivers.

I suspected that thanks!!! Now on to a clean install. Anyone point me to to a thread which details how to do it? Also, will I need a different copy of windows or will the backup I create work? Thanks.
