You will need to install some drivers and programs manually
All you need to know is in those threads:
Clean install guide: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asu...lk-through-doing-clean-windows-7-install.html
Drivers and apps: G73/74/53 Series Driver and Application Reference
Asus bloatware guide: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/380681-asus-utility-bloatware-guide.html -
which drivers do i really need? cause i know some are useless.

mostly:
sound
chipset
lan
wifi
webcam
card reader
Graphic card
and others like:
ATK package
turbo boost
splendid
fast booot
other members can add more if i am missing something. -
This is confusing i still dont understand how do i get my windows 7 copy from the computer. Also i don't understand how do you install the BIOS.
-
You can grab an iso of windows 7 sp1 here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/win...-digitalriver-windows-7-sp1-13-languages.html. Use the key that is on the sticker under your laptop for activation.
BIOS update guide: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/174395-bios-update-guide-asus-notebooks.html.
I suggest you give a quick look at the stickies in the main Asus forum as well as in the gaming section. A lot of the resources you need are there and you won't have to wait for one of us to give an answer. -
Is updating the bios mandatory? all this reading is intimidating is there any video tutorial out ther?
-
Not for nothing, but you are setting yourself up for disaster if you don't educate yourself first. Do the reading for your own good.
-
To sum it all up i just need to:
-Install windows 7
-Install Drivers via driver disk
Do i need to update Bios or anything like that?
I got this laptop brand new.
My main worry is that will i have all my laptop button functions after i install all the drivers from the driver disk? -
Read and follow the guides that were posted above and you'll be fine, everything will work.

hey guys i tried installing it but it tells me that i cannot install windows onto it why is that? i enabled it in my old OS. it says something like i gotta do with a controller on BIOS. please help i already deleted my old OS.
edit:
i enabled the ssd in my old os. When i tried to select the disk to install the windows 7 i highlight it and it says (windows cannot be installed into this drive) i clicked details and it says i have to enable some controller thingy and it said the drive may not be compatible with my computer components.
i get a error code (0x80070057)
Also is it because i enabled it as master boot record? -
If you are doing what I think you are doing, you need to remove the hard drive(s) from your computer and just put the SSD in there. Then you can install Windows onto the SSD and avoid the installation confusion. After Windows is up and running on the SSD, put your hard drive back in there for storage use if you wish.

i've even googled another solution and it still didnt work. i used the diskpart through cmd and it still doesn't work. i still get the same code if i try to continue.

You could also burn the recovery set using the current version of AI Recovery
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/Apps/AIRecovery/AI_Recovery_Win7_64_Z1019.zip
Once burned to DVD's, you can pop out the HDD and install the SSD. Then boot to Disk 1 on the Recovery Set, and choose to install to 1 partition Only, and no Recovery Partition creation.
Once you verify that the SSD is installed properly, you can then wipe out your HDD. I personally would still keep the Recovery Partition on the HDD, but to each their own.
Case: 1585008
Going to install a ssd on my G53SW-XN1
