G73jh-A1 w/ 4GB ram/1TB HD/i7 720QM/AMD Radeon HD5870/et al
Windows 7, Home Premium, 64 Bit
Google Talk (latest download from google.com/talk)
GTalk loads. I type in email / password, click "sign in" windows freezes - by freezes, I mean just locks. No mouse movement. If sound is playing, it gets stuck at what ever beat / sound it was on. No keys work and the Three Finger Salute doesn't work. Reboot is only way to get the PC working again.
Anyone got an idea?
Fixes I've tried:
Run as Admin
Compat. mode to Win Vista, Vista SP1, Vista SP2, XP SP3, XP SP2, XP SP1, XP, and Windows 2000.
Uninstall, reinstall (6 times now).

4gb of ram in an A1?
-
Toxic - I should call it a 'hybrid' ... it was a 1ATY, but they reluctantly upgraded me when it was going to take a month to get an i5 board from Taiwan (I now have an i7 720QM CPU, and 4 slots for ram, but only 2 sticks - hence the "hybrid"). So I'm waiting for the other 500GB hd, and will eventually buy another 4GB DDR3 ram (though I don't really need it.)

Google Talk works fine here on my G73.
The Creative software might be causing the lockups. If its installed that is. -

I decided to do this myself for kicks. Same driver as above. Realtek says I have just regular stereo speakers. That said, there IS sound coming from the sub, but meh if I know if its working properly

Here with Creative fully functional, and gtalk works perfect. Make sure you are bios 209 or above.

I have 211 BIOS.
I need GTalk more then I need the bass sound (plus, I use external most times, or headphones sometimes at work). -
Then I had random lockups at the weirdest of times. Ease of Access center works fine, Steam loads, played many hours, no lockups. Subwoofer works. Realtek 2.51 installed over em' all, but while typing in Word it suddenly locks.
Happened twice today. Without Creative installed, zero issues. With Creative installed, was fine for the past month, then out of the blue it randomly locks up me Windows. :/
CMSS-3D and Bass-boost both enabled.
