So I bought a G73JH-RBBX05. LOVELY laptop. One minor issue, the battery that came with it is defective. I already put in an RMA so I could get one replaced, but my question is, how bad really is ASUS support. Will I wait 3-4 weeks to get my battery replaced? Or should I drop the dime on a brand new one.

I am 9 months into warranty, and I just got mine replaced after a 10 day wait. When you called it in did they have you callibrate it?

They should just send you a new battery. Should arrive in a week. I've had a battery on an older model replaced before.

Does it matter that I bought it from newegg? The power supply works, its just the battery doesn't charge.

I'm not willing to send my whole laptop to them because of a defective battery, I can manage on just the power supply itself. Did you just send in the battery to them?

I called ASUS directly, they had me do a calibration. This did not resolve my issue, then I called the next day and they setup the RMA. (I got the new battery at this point and still have the old one). I need to return the defective battery if that is indeed the cause of my issue, so I will test and keep the better one I guess. Good Question though
