HI everyone, just got my G73 a couple of days ago, and it is utterly awesome! Thought id introduce myself here!

I've seen people say there temps are about 80 degrees C + fully loaded, but on medal of honour, DX11, full graphics, for 2 hours, the highest it got was 69 degrees. I know this must be good lol, and it will probably get worse, but does this suggest to you that my laptop was already repasted? It was a refurbished model i beleive, so that woud be great if thats the case.

There is also a small issue with he trackpad. Sometimes, it will start zooming in instead of actually moving around, and i have no idea how to switch, back to normal tracking. Its very annoying lol.

Any suggestions are welcome, hope to stay around for a while :D

Hello There m8. You are correct to be over the moon with this rig cos its awesome. If you bought it from Btotech or hid-evolution online they do sometimes re-paste by accident like with mine. Its normally done though when an aftermarket part is added so count yourself lucky LOLOL. Enjoy but Beware because you will soon be thinking about upgrading certain hardware........ just ask Dallers on this forum he loves to tinker and now reaps the benefits :)

    Tinker very good word :)

We have been in contact a while Mr Turner glad you are enjoying your purchase and have not had any more problems since our last convo, it is indeed a fantastic laptop and the price and power are next to none. I say it a lot but I wish more people would give the JH a chance it handles well and has a lot of upgradable options.

Did you get your customs fee back from the seller?

It also could be housing one of the last XM models (upgraded option) that allows full custom overclock ability as the Sandy is limited to the what it can be pushed to and does not have the option we have through throttlestop sadly the same could happen for the Ivy.

Still could try raising a dispute worth a shot as if he allows it to be sold worldwide then he should mention who will pay for them! :D

Was playing GTA 4 earlier yes I was quite amazed how well it runs I think the XM might help because it is still a very poor port. When you use the ICE 2.5 modifier though it slows things down rapidly!

Is your trackpad sticking? Yes this is a problem and one that is a trial and error fix.

There is a long post here with multiple fixes for people http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus-gaming-notebook-forum/514545-g73-touch-pad-issues.html but some people have to modify the touchpad itself others get away with software updates.

I have noticed since flashing 213 all my issues have gone even the little ones as you have 211 it might be something you may need to do. But firstly install the latest Synapics drivers from Chastity's page and then go into the settings for Synapics and turn off all of the stuff like Pinch Zoom, multifinger gestures etc and for the scrolling settings change them all to pick up the slightest movement that helped my touchpad a lot. But 213 seems to be a Yes or No fix for most.

    yeah, i'll see tomorrow.

I have the ICE mod too, looks awesome, but only about 18-23 fps. Worth playing for the graphics though!

Ahh ok, well the left centimetre of the trackpad works normal, and the rest turns into a zoom. It just randomly goes on and off. Nevermind, i'll get used to it!

You can turn that off in the synaptics options as I said above fella. Its called Pinch Zoom and there are lots of multigestures you can turn them off as well.
