Been running on the v93 BIOS since it came out. Haven't had -any- issues at all since then. The only thing I've really done since then is try to keep my video drivers reasonably up to date, and again, no real problems there either. 10.10 made my display do some strange things (it would appear it was running in 16bit color mode sometimes, and the only way to fix it was to actually force it to run in 16bit and then go back to 32, gradients were obviously bad when this happened).

Regardless, since not being able to properly download 10.11, I decided to just drop back to 10.8, because I never had any problems with it. That is, until today. I just decided to log in to WoW, and after about 5 minutes of playing, it seems like my video just crashes. It looks something like a GSOD, except its incredibly colorful, and it seems like it is still trying to draw to the screen. I don't really have anything to take a picture with the show, but this is pretty strange. It has happened twice in a row. Any thoughts? I'm updating to 10.11 now, as there was tell that the installer was fixed.

    Update: Happened on 10.11

I don't really play other games. I just know that it was working this morning, and worked for a solid 10 hours yesterday. Today it decides it wants to die? I dunno, I can play the game for about 5 minutes before it happens, and the last time it happened, it really looked like a GSOD. Going to go do it again to see if I can get a better picture.

Also, I got 10.11 installed, the installer they have works now (before it wouldn't download).

Laptop bit it after all was said and done. Not sure if it was a heat thing, but before the end, the GPU fan stopped spinning, and finally the display stopped working entirely, wouldn't show me anything when I tried to boot.

Pretty happy about having to RMA this close to Christmas... and Cataclysm.

Going to be pretty honest that I'll -never- purchase another Asus product in my life. This has been 5 months of nothing but crap, and for the price I paid for it, I expected a LOT better.

I guess I'll find out how good the Ontario center is though.

Supposedly it's the best one in North America, so hopefully you'll get it back soon.

Checked this afternoon, says it is in Final Testing. Hoping they don't now decide to come complaining to me about me pasting my CPU and GPU.

Hmm, shipped out today, no comments about my technically voiding the warranty because I repasted the CPU. Maybe they didn't care because my CPU wasn't the issue. We'll see when it gets here.

Yay back from RMA. New GPU, new GPU cooling assembly (the whole thing), and they even gave me a new keyboard :D

    10 minutes idle 50C.
