Just upgraded the video drivers to the latest one.
Put HDMI to DVI cable to the LCD and just shows the input screensaver on the monitor.
Does not show it under nvidia control or windows.

Any help would be great, and yes I already searched. Nothing.
Samsung T220 Touch of Color btw
And really unsure if im doing something wrong. Or if there is HDMI drivers or what.....
And Asus's site is so borked......how can they make such wonderful notebooks. Yet to get drivers its an endless battle?
I loaded the java app, did not work to use a program to verify my model. Did the manual search, but it freezes on the last option of which OS it has. And the search comes up with no results for "Asus" let along Asus g51

Eh. Check the ven_ID and dev_ID and get the relevant drivers. Not a big deal.

I downloaded it from nvidia's site. Unsure if I need the Asus driver, but as I said, cant get the Asus driver due to the horrid website. -
lol the asus website is terrible when searching. Try just browsing to your laptop model. That's the g60? Anyways, check the vendor ID and device ID and see what drivers you're missing.

Found it:
It is Ricoh PCIe xD-Picture Card Controller. Driver can be downloaded from here: http://d6.devid.info/drv/29/R227769.exe
It is Ricoh PCIe Memory Stick Host Controller. Driver should be available on Asus support pages for G50-G60 series.
Both links wont work.
However that means my issue wont be resolved having or not having these drivers.
Anything else I can try? -
So ... your SD card reader prevents you from using your HDMI?
I think you've got an id_10T error.
You might want to check your TV settings, because I'm not convinced that it's a hardware issue. -

As far as I'm concerned, your monitor is "off" and that's why it's not displaying anything. Your drivers look like they've been installed correctly. Your video signal is likely being sent, but not received.
If you would like to fix your issue with help from the forum, you'll need to attempt the fixes suggested. QQing about it won't encourage people to jump in on the issue. Good luck fixing your problem. It really doesn't appear to be a hardware issue though. -

Are you hitting 'detect monitors' under the nvidia control panel?
-

I never said its because of drivers. I said it could be because of drivers. Since I did not know what those missing drivers were, I assumed they were HDMI intel drivers, or something missing to prevent HDMI not to work.
And no real suggestions have been offered. No links to whatever, no instructions.....
I am not a n00b when it comes to computers. But since this seems to be a brand specific issue (never had an issue with HDMI on any other laptop). Then I assume the Asus community could be of help.
And I don't know if you were saying that I need SD drivers for HDMI to work, or not. Because your posts seem rather vague.
I do appreciate your help, but thus far your posts have yet to solve or troubleshoot my issue. -

Have you tried a different hdmi cable?
-

Cable is brand new (but I know not every cable is tested)
Before I send the cable back was just curious if theres a setting im missing or driver im missing I guess.... -

I dunno. You could try reinstalling the nvidia driver, or get a newer one from nvidia.com.
If the detect monitors function in nvidia control panel isn't seeing your monitor, I'd suspect the cable is bad before I blame the monitor or the HDMI out itself. -

I got the newest driver from Nvdia last night :O
Imma try the tv first, then report my findings :O -

Yeah, if you don't have an extra cable that you know is good, testing the TV with HDMI is a good option to rule out at least your notebook being the problem. If that works it's either your monitor or the cable, with the cable being most likely.

I wasn't trying to "solve" your issues, I was trying to put you on the right direction to solving your own problems. Considering I don't have access to your equipment, I can't really fix it for you - especially when you're being so vague. I may not have seemed helpful, but that's because you weren't giving me much to work with.
I didn't even think to suggest it's a cable problem, because ... well, that's a noob mistake. How would you have reacted if I called you a noob? Anyways. I'm glad you've been able to learn something. -

HDMI to HDMI works fine on the 32 inch living room tv.....
But I dont have anything to test the HDMI to DVI cord on aside from the laptop.
I am going to see if I can borrow a friends vga cord to be sure it isnt the LCD.....
thanks :O
Will report back soon! -

I'd like to note that I've seen a TV from Samsung requiring a firmware update to be properly detected over HDMI.
