HOORAY!!!! i finally figured out what has been causing my computer to randomly blue screen...

    BOO....

I have to get a replacement....I think my rig specs are in my sig

As of right now I'm running on only 2GB of my 4gb of RAM (because i have the bad piece out). I tested both pieces by themselves with 13 passes for one and 7 for the other, one was bad, one was good. To help alleviate the issue im using ReadyBoost with an SD card...i might plug in a flash drive as well haha. There is a definite performance drop using just 2GB on Windows 7

I have one problem though. I'm not entirely sure which RAM i should get. On the RAM stick it says 2Rx8 PC3-8500s. Its a 1066 mhz speed. Do you guys know what RAM fits with a Asus G60Jx motherboard? I'm not sure about the Pin size at all... I used a program called "System info for Windows" and this came up, maybe it will help you guys help me? :D

I'm guessing i'm going to have to get 2 identical sticks of RAM even though one stick is still good. I've read plenty of threads saying that have 2 different types of RAM makes computers cranky. Any recommendations?

    Thanks a ton :)

I've been searching RAM pieces. My computer is capable of up to 8gb RAM but it has only 2 slots. So i have a question.

    8GB 1066MHZ at CAS latency of 9
    or
    4GB 1066MHZ at CAS latency of 7

    Tyvm :D

I do some gaming. Borderlands, LoL, TF2...etc

I've always had great performance with my 4gb that i had (aside from those BSoDs). Is CAS latency a big deal? I noticed that the 1333mhz has cas 9 while the 1066 has cas 7

In this case, it would probably be a wash. The only way you would be able to tell the difference is by running synthetic benchmarks.

FWIW, if you were to ever upgrade your CPU to a i7, you could then run 8GB of ram.
