Hi all, I currently have the Asus G73JH-A1, which has two 500GB harddrives.
I want to do the Recovery Partition as stated in the User Manual. There's a warning that says:
"Remove the optional secondary harddisk drive before performing system recovery on your Notebook PC"
When I wanted to physically remove the 'optional secondary harddrive' I could not tell which was the primary and which was the secondary. I removed them both and checked both the bays and the hard drives but there was nothing that could help me, no "1" or "2" anywhere. The harddrives and bays were identical.
Which HDD should I remove? The one closer to the right edge of the laptop or the one nearer the middle?
Thanks in advance

When you have the laptop flipped over, the HDD on the left is connected to SATA port 4, and the one on the right is connected to SATA port 1. The OS should be installed on the SATA port 4 drive, so take out the one on the right and you should be good.
Edit: take the one on the left out, not right. -
Huh? My hdd on the right has the os. Does it go randomly on every user?
-
Opps, I meant take the one out on the left, its 2am over here;o
-
well it depends on how the laptop is flipped over
how exactly do you mean flipped over? touchpad on top side or bottom?
-
touchpad bottom side. It should be the left one that you need to take out.

Oh. Get some sleep dude.
BTW, Where is the sata port 2,3?
-
Thanks a lot both of you

Sata 2 is the bluray I believe. SATA 3 is just somewhere on the motherboard... Wish god dam ASUS didn't cheap out and added a e-sata... All it takes is one piece of wire and a port cutout on the shell =o.

TRUE! They have it on my previous g72gx, Why take it out on the latest model?
