    Hey bright folk!
    I've fallen quite out of touch with the computer world, and recently bought a G73JW.
    I know I'm not getting full power from it (can tell when I run games) and I'm guessing it has to do with old drivers, not optimized settings, lack of overclocking, etc...
    But I'm sure you all know how to do that stuff!

    Mind helping me get it all right? (for those with detailed info regarding Rift, that's the main thing I'm playing right now)

    Here's my dxdiag: View attachment DxDiag.txt

    Don't hold out on me! I know you guys know how to max things out. Or at least a good guide for updating drivers and such.

    Beyond those two things? Is there anything else? I intend to make a ssd boot drive. But otherwise, anything else to improve?

    I would disable as many programs as possible with MSconfig. (See Bloatware thread elsewhere in the forums).
    If you are still not happy with the performance and have updated Video drivers as suggest above...
    I would also recommend a 'clean win 7 install' after doing a full system image to an external hard drive.
    Flying Falcon posted a link where you can get the latest drivers and a win 7 DVD.iso file if you do not have a copy of win 7.

    GOOD move the ssd will help with boot time and game loading.

    If its dragging check your temps to make sure its not throttling and make sure everything is in performance mode.

    Next format the HDD and reinstall windows fresh. Install all of the latest drivers. Overclock.

    To be honest it is powerful enough but otherwise yes consider these upgrades in this order of performance.

    SSD -> 920XM -> 1333mhz RAM (if needed)
