If unchecking BD PROCHOT causes your CPU to get hotter than you'd like, why not create a second profile in ThrottleStop; one with BD PROCHOT checked and one profile with BD PROCHOT unchecked.
You can then go into the Options window and set an alarm to automatically switch profiles when your CPU gets too close to the thermal throttling point. ThrottleStop gives you a lot of control over your CPU once you learn how to set it up.
