I have a GX51jx-a1 and am using the esata with an identical hard drive as I have installed inside the laptop with a complete Asus and windows install. My goal was to be able to use the external hard drive for experimentation purposes without the risk of clobbering or infecting the internal hard drive.

I can easily choose the correct drive to boot from however I cannot find a method to disable the internal drive without losing the ability to boot from the esata. I had hoped that all I would need to do was disable the internal drive in the bios when I wanted to only run from the esata keeping the internal drive safe and secure.

Anyone have any Ideas on how I can use the esata in an isolated way?
All help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
