I have the Asus G73SW model laptop. I need to get a new battery because mine is going bad. I need suggestions on a new good battery that would last as long as the original battery that came with my laptop.

New replacements are available from Asus that would be the same OEM battery. Seems I remember them being $100-130 if I recall last I checked for my G73JH which should be the same battery.

    I believe I need a battery too.

Battery light alternates Green/Orange with it attached when plugged in reading 98%. Currently am running on just the power brick for hours at a time without issue, so I'm excluding that from being the issue.

Where is a good place to order a battery in terms of both reliability and price?

    Hello thegreatsquare,

Did you check your battery wear level already? You could use HWiNFO64 for that task. If you are going to buy for a new G73 battery, if it is an original one, ask first the customer support which one on their battery units has the most recent production date. Original batteries have those stickers with them showing the production date. Most recent batteries are better than older ones as internal resistance reduces battery life span and capacity over a period of time.

All this info and "Where is a good place to order a battery in terms of both reliability and price?", which was my only question, is none of it.

If it matters that much to you, wear level is 33%. EDIT: It stopped charging at 93%, was at 55% charge level when I put it in to measure the wear level and it was reading 98% charge level when I took it out "for good" 2-3 weeks ago. When the battery stopped charging the battery light went off even though the battery is still plugged in.

I never really use the battery, I believe it is going due to being on a generator for 10 days after Hurricane Sandy, plus my cord had a short in it. When I saw it spark, I replaced it.

I need to do a reinstall, I am still on the original factory install. [only have my original backup disk I made when bought, no W7 disc on hand]. Going to buy a new 750GB as well, probably this Hybrid HDD.

...So please, can somebody link me to a reliable online store to get the replacement battery [usa], hopefully someplace that might have some sort of a discount.
