I just received my G74SX-3DS. The touch pad seems to have a stuck button on it. As the touch pad is almost unusable.

Since this is my first lap top i was wondering if its just something i am missing.

I did turn off the touch click. It made no difference. I reset the bio and have reloaded the touch drivers.

If i glide my finger across the pad it gives me a blue high lite. I cant click on anything with the left button. The right button is semi functional though. When i pass over icons on the desktop they just stick to my pointer. Weather or not click on them. Have to click the right button to even drag the pointer anywhere without stuff sticking to it. I disabled the touch pad for now and using a mouse.

When i tried to do the button switch in the software it got really messed up.

Its annoying i put in a ticket with asus tech support.

p.s really sweet lap top other then this issue :)

Wondering if their is any program that will show me that the button staying activated like i think is happening.

Asus phone support wasn't very helpful.

You seem to have a defective track pad, better to get them change the whole laptop for a brand new one since you've just got it. No point having to wait two weeks to have it sent to ASUS depot and have it fixed, then returned.

It might be the ribbon cable that's damaged but why should you take the pains to check it out and open it up since its brand new.
