I just recently got this beast. I performed a factory settings restore. After the restore and the setup etc, now there is some sort of problem.

The AC MODE message just spams itself on my screen. I don't know why, I checked the battery, made sure it was in securely. It still continues to spam the message even as I type this.

Is there some sort of update I need to perform? Any help is appreciated.

I just picked up a G73JH. The 1st time I ran it, everything seemed fine, no problems whatsoever. I decided to restore it to factory just to clean it up. I completed the set up etc. Afterwards, I plugged in my ac adapter. I noticed the screen would brighten up and dim every few seconds. I passed that off as a 1st time thing. Once on my desktop however, the AC Mode message pretty much spams itself on my screen. The Battery charging indicator light will blink and the battery won't charge. One thing I have noticed is, the battery light will become solid and charge while the laptop isn't on. When I unplug the AC, the battery seems fine.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Why did you do the factory restore? Restoring to factory settings doesn't "clean it up". Uninstalling crapware or doing a fresh W7 install does that.

There wouldn't be an update for that kind of issue. You may have a failing PSU brick. Try your F9 (again) and return to factory condition, see if it's just a 1 time bug, likely not. You could also try a fresh W7 install and see if there was some kind of bug on your hidden partition image.
