I recently received my G73 back after the video card died. Asus took their sweet time (5 weeks! - IN facility, this is ridiculous), but finally returned the laptop with a new card. So far it works great. Now the issue:
When I opened the box from Asus, loose screws were literally rattling around freely in the box. I grabbed them, then also noticed several screws missing from the bottom of the laptop. In all, SIX, yes, 6 screws never made it back from Asus, not to mention that they put some random screw to hold the DVD drive that wasn't even the right size.
I called Asus about it and they opened a case. The tech promised an answer in 48 hours and was very apologetic. Well, a week later, I call again, and the next tech looks into the case. His answer: Asus wants me to send in my laptop so that they can put the missing six screws back in the bottom of the laptop! Asus wants me to spend another $50 in shipping and wait another month or so instead of just sending out a bag of $0.05 cent screws?
I told the tech that this was absolutely out of the question, and that I would think that Asus would consider working double hard to please me after already going through an expensive and lengthy RMA process with their premium laptop.
ANother 48 hours has passed, still no solution. I'm about to just buy the stupid screws on eBay, but boy am I unhappy with this snotty answer from the Asus techs. What does it take to get good service? I love my laptop but this kind of service is absolute trash.

I'd ask them to mail you more screws. I would not send it back. It wouldn't be worth your time or money, and who knows what will happen. You can use the 2nd photo in my Newb's repaste thread to find out how many screws you are really missing, assuming they did not remove more than they had too.

Here you go. Those are the one's you need for the back of the laptop. I don't know where you got 5x15 at and I don't understand why your paying for shipping? When it's their fault! If I was you I would fight till the end until I get free shipping and treated with moral and respect ... but to each they own.

I agree that more of a fight is in order, but when it takes 30 miuntes waiting on hold just to get someone on the line at Asus, it just isn't worth my time to save $4 in screws. I'll just buy the eBay screws and be happy.
