Hi, I just got my G73 and decided to do a Clean Win 7 install. After the install/Re-installing drivers everything was fine except that the wireless connection would not enable. Upon looking at the device manager I noticed my wireless card (Atheros AR9285) doesn't even appear. Yet, when booted in Safe Mode, it does appear in my device manager. Anyone here experienced this before or able to shed light on how to fix this problem?

Clean install went all well for me. I didn't even have to install drivers for it to show up in Device Manager or even connect to a network.

One thing you might want to watch out for is the "Intel Management Engine Interface" device. It should show up as an Unknown Device, or a PCI Simple Communications device. Disable it. It serves no purpose to the notebook.

It's for remote management using an Intel device protocol. Generally used in a business environment.

And why exactly should we disable it? Will it improve wireless performance? Or is it just to keep things tidy? I know, I should've asked this question in my previous post to prevent me from coming across as annoying. But hey, too late now! :p

It's for letting people control your machine remotely. I personally do not care for that option. :)

Well here's something interesting, the wireless card is appearing in my device manager now and is giving me "Currently this device is not connected to the computer (Code 45)" I assume after repasting my GPU the techs at xoticpc forgot to replug my wireless card? Is there any easy way for me to plug it in?

Have you looked inside the access panel to see if the card is there?

Because it's a waste of performance and waste of resources.

Have you tried enabling it with FN+F2? If there is any problem feel free to call in or send me a PM and we would be happy to help. :)

You can remove your access panel and the wireless card will be on the left side next to the GPU. First if the wires are disconnected then connect the black wire to number 1 and white to number 2. IF they are connected I would try to reseat it. Just remove the two screws that hold it down. The card will then pop out at about a 45 degree angle. Pull it out, then push it back in at the same 45 degree angle. Then press it down flat and replace the screws. Connect the wires as I described above and retest.

Feel free to call me tomorrow or email me directly with any questions.
