I recently received the g73 and for a day it ran beautifully. After turning it on the next day, I was greeted with the asus screen followed by a blank screen with a white cursor on the top left corner. However, I could still enter the bios setup. I decided to reinstall Windows. Unfortunately, windows requires several restarts and so the laptop would constantly go back to that blank screen. Several attempts later, I noticed that if I boot from the Windows dvd without pressing a key when prompted to do so, windows would load. In short, to get to Windows I need to leave the Windows install dvd in the laptop and boot from it. This process is rather annoying and so I am wondering if there is a fix.

Sounds like you have a bad MBR, or it's trying to boot to the wrong HDD. Check your Boot order in BIOS, or Esc during Post to get the Boot Menu.

Ahhhh. USB was listed first for the boot order. Thanks! You should work for Asus tech support as they wanted me to send the laptop in for a problem you fixed in a few minutes.

I accept payments in the form of rep or fudge brownies. :YUM:
