Hey, ok i dont know who else to ask so i searched for an asus forum and i figure you guys might know what im talking about seeing as i cant find it anywhere...

    So my question is

I had bought an Asus G71GX-RX05 best buy version of an asus laptop from tigerdirect.ca... It came with all these utilities already on it like lowjack and liteframe and bluetooth... I recently have had problems with it and sent it in for repairs and such. The last time i had the upgrade to windows 7 -64 bit... It wiped all those utilities off the hard drive... So i dont have them any more... My computer came with a disk to put those utilities back on but it wont do it because its not vista anymore... so my question is

Since reviews say my laptop is bluetooth compatable... How come i cant get it from the utilities disk? or rather where can i get a program or how do i just get all that stuff back?

I mainly just want the bluetooth back because i recently got a wireless mouse and it said in reviews that this computer has a bluetooth antenna... Or am i wrong? Have i wasted my money for a wireless mouse that dont work?

Thank you, i've tried that though... when i click on the exe file for bluetooth, it pops up with this "prepairing to install" for at least an hour then pops up with another thing that says "Bluetooth device cannot be found" so i have to cancel installation.

Have you tried going to the manufactures website of the bluetooth module and seeing if they have their own downloads?

I thought the best buy versions of the G series line were gimped when it came to bluetooth but your saying youve used the bluetooth before right?

no i havent used bluetooth for this comp before, but i've checked recent reviews for it like this one.

Asus G71GX-RX05 Specs - Laptops - CNET Reviews

and it says right there, first line under 'built-in devices'... Bluetooth Antenna... I mean .. i got the Razor Orochi mouse i like it, its awesome corded, but it should work bluetooth

Worse case i return it and put the money towards Razor Mamba... Not that i wanna spend that much...but the mamba isnt bluetooth, it has an adapter.
