AI Recovery is one of my least favorite apps from Asus. If the HDD crashes, the discs are useless. More likely than not, one of the burned DVD's will have an error, and be useless.

My suggestion, use Windows Backup and an external HDD for backups, or an app like Acronis True Image Home. Get everything set up the way you like it, and then image the HDD. Keep the Recovery partition to restore the system to new should you ever sell it.

For Windows Backup, go to "Control Panel > Backup and Restore". It will then prompt you for the destination (the external HDD) and what files to backup. If you save your files to the default locations under your standard User folders, then the default settings are probably sufficient.

If you play WoW, then I recommend that you also backup:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\Interface
    &
    C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\W-T-F [remove dashes]

These are the add-ons and accounts folders, respectively. I don't think that folders like these would be backed up with default settings.

Personally, I use a program called CrashPlan (free version) for backups.

Short answer NO. The AI recovery program creates DVD's from a hidden partition. IF you restore from these DVD's you will retrun your system to the way it was when it was new, anyting you installed(Kaspery, etc)will be GONE if you do the restore this way. AI recovery was the first program I got rid of, and I delete the recovery partition.
Then I downloaded this Paragon Backup & Recovery (Advanced) Free Edition - Free Download. Now when I make a backup image i can do it to DVD or external hard drive and it will save all the stuff I have installed.
